3 Key Pieces To A
This year we are entering into the month of May with chiller temps which call for (fingers crossed!) warmer styles. Typically the spring weather is not my favorite to dress for because you never know what exactly to wear. Since it can be so frustrating I wanted to help you out with several must-have pieces I wear on rotation for a versatile wardrobe. Here we go!
Denim for the WIN!
Can I just take a moment to express how much I adore a good pair of stretch jeans? OMG! I can't tell you how many pairs of high-waisted light wash distressed denim jeans I own and wear NON-STOP! There's not a day or season that jeans aren't my go-to, other than the occasional lazy leggings day. I'm pretty sure your have your closet already stacked with these
bad boys so I'm just going to recommend some styling tips! Pair with a printed top or graphic tee for day or a lace-trimmed silk-satin bodysuit and sheer jacket for night.
Pumps are great for when you A, don't have to walk far & B, are sitting the majority of the time. lol Does anyone else feel this way? I'm guilty. I have a few pairs of high heels, but honestly, as I've gotten older I've realized they just aren't practical and in the long run, don't get nearly as much use as a pair of my 3-inch heels do. Low-heels seem to be the perfect mix of comfortable yet cute. You can wear to work and look professional, but also wear them out to eat with friends and look chic! It's the best of both worlds if you ask me. The time is now to incorporate these in your daily wardrobe because this trend isn't going anywhere and as they say, if you can't beat them, join them!
Covered In COTTON
I never really noticed the difference in the quality of tops that are made from synthetic blends versus made from 100% cotton. Let me just say it will change your life! Not only does it benefit your wardrobe because it prolongs the lifecycle of the item, but along the way, it helps out your skin! Hard to believe, but I definitely notice that I get more breakouts and perspire more when I wear tops that aren't a cotton-blend or made from100% cotton. This is why being covered in cotton even down to my pj's is an absolute must! I love that there is such a large variety of cotton shirts and even blouses to choose from which why it's one of my key pieces to a versatile wardrobe. You can literally wear your favorite cotton tee over and over again dressed up with a blazer or solo for a more casual look. Either way, it's a piece I personally wear on REPEAT.
Key Ways To SWITCH IT UP
Color POP: Wearing the same sartorial on rotating bases can get boring and uninspiring. This is where fun palettes come into play. My favorites are the ones that fuse two bold colors together.
ACCESSorize: Don't be shy about pulling out your most prized handbag, scarf, or pair of earrings to bring your look to life.
A FRESH Face: The best way to switch it up the look an outfit is with a change in your hair & make-up. For some this may sound daunting, but I promise you it's totally not! If you aren't skilled in dong your own glam, start with the basics, a little foundation to even out your skin tone, concealer to cover any blemishes or dark spots, mascara to lengthen your lashes & your favorite color lipstick to bring out your features!
