Summer Hydration Session
My Secrets To The Ultimate Skin Refresh!
Summer is almost here! And like everyone else I want my skin to be hydrated and ready for the summer sun. If you're like me the hot weather just screams your name as your "glow up" season. There's nothing worse than dry irritated skin during your prime season. So, of course, I want to help you by letting you in on my secrets to the ultimate skin refresh. Ready to glow all summer long!?
Secret #1: Exfoliated EFFECTS
I know I've made mention of some of my favorite skincare products in my previous post, Stay At Home Skincare , but this one is so good it's worth mentioning a second time. Mario Badescu's Exfoliating Facial Scrub is my go-to for soft, beautiful, radiant skin every time. Literally I can't believe this stuff! Without a doubt, this skin treatment is my number one secret to getting instant refresh results. You start by squeezing a dime-size amount into your wet palms and rubbing it gently onto the surface of your skin in a circular motion for about 8 mins. When time's up, rinse completely, pat your skin dry with a plush towel and marvel at yourself in the mirror.
Secret #2: Moisture LOCK!
The best way to keep your skin glowing is by locking in the moisture. Without doing this your skin will become dry, flakey and dull. I found using water-based moisturizers that are both sulfate and paraben-free are the ones that show consistent results over time. I take it a step further by purchasing the moisturizers that are also oil and alcohol-free because the oil can cause breakouts by clogging your pores and the alcohol causes dryness. In addition, adding a rosewater or coconut water face mist to your daily routine to refresh throughout the day proves to be also very beneficial. I typically use this additional layer of moisture in the summertime during days of extreme heat or low humidity.
Secret #3: You Are What You EAT
I'm sure we've all heard this one once or twice, ok maybe more like ten times lol However, there is tremendous truth to it. Think about it when you eat foods that help yield a radiant complexion such as salmon, avocados, walnuts, sweet potatoes, sunflower seeds, red or yellow bell peppers, broccoli, tomatoes & tons of water your skin will obtain its natural glow. Switching up your diet for the warmer weather will only help accelerate your results. But, let's also be realistic because we are all human and it is easier said than done. My recommendation would be to gradually switch over little by little or just go for it completely, but allot yourself cheat days as a way to motivate you to keep up your progress. You never want to feel miserable while changing up your eating habits. Yes, discipline is good, but the key to succeeding is by pacing yourself.
Now go on & get your GLOW on! Xx
