Statement Hairpins For Spring
Second to clothing, accessories are my next biggest love in fashion. Hence the launching of my handbag & fashion accessories brand,
Jade Alycia Inc. As the weather warms up it’s time to break out the best ways to “say it.” One of my personal favorites has been
the decorative hairpin / clip trend. Pinned up or pinned down, let’s dive into a few
that have been making a statement.
The PEARL Pin
Timeless yet elegant. Pair this pin with a silk-satin evening midi dress or a daytime sundress for a brunch with the girls.
Either way, this pearlescent accessory is absolutely captivating. You can choose to glam it up by wearing oversized pearl pins or
a cluster of mini pearl-embellished burettes as a way to elevate your updo.
The WORD Pin
This is by far the most playful way to say what you mean without actually saying it. It will surely add a little sass
to your next weekend event wearing this pin. For the ultimate statement maker, I like to accompany
this letter pin with a combination of stud crystal-embellished pins for a bold hairstyle.
The CLASSIC Pin
Elevate the basics by swapping out your typical black bobby's for a metallic gold or even stunning silver option.
With this colored accessory, I loving adding a little extra detailed touch by crisscrossing, adding in larger size pins as a contrast
or evenly spacing the pins so that they line up and frame my ear. So that's three trendsetting ways to show
off one killer ensemble.
A Few EXTRA Pointers:
Up OR Down: The best way to draw the most attention to these pieces is to slick your hair up in a ponytail or straight back for a wet hair resemblance.
Dress IT Up: If you dare, wear a cool earring cuff or statement earrings to compliment your hairpins.
Mix IT Up: Don’t be afraid to mix and match metals, crystals or colors. The more abstract the placement the more statement-making it can be.
Play IT Up: Maybe adding an alluring piece of jewelry isn’t your thing. Well, try coordinating your makeup instead and watch how you glow!
